Deploy ON vs Vercel

This is the least fair head-to-head. Vercel is built for Next.js, edge, and functions. Deploy ON is built for processes that stay up and sit next to a database.

Price for the same app

Shop API. A small always-on Node.js API plus PostgreSQL. One custom domain, HTTPS, about 512 MB of RAM for the app, a small Postgres instance, and low traffic. Not a serverless frontend-only site.

Deploy ON

50 ₾ / month

~$18.5

Application plan. Managed Postgres is a separate package — we do not pretend it is free inside the 50 ₾.

Vercel

$20–40+ / month

$20–40+

Pro is $20 and includes a $20 usage credit. Neon (or another marketplace Postgres) and Fluid compute sit on top. A long-running Node process is not the product.

A static or mostly-static Next.js site on Hobby can be $0. A production Next.js app on Pro is $20 plus Fluid compute and a database. Neon Launch is usage-based. We show $20–40 as a calm production starting range, not a promise. If you need a process that listens all night — workers, n8n, a socket server, PHP-FPM — Vercel is the wrong tool, not a cheaper one.

List prices as of October 2026. Deploy ON in ₾; others in USD. FX used only as a hint: 1 USD ≈ 2.7 GEL. Sources: Vercel pricing, Deploy ON plans.

Side by side

Topic Deploy ON Vercel
Focus Full apps, workers, and databases on Kubernetes. Frontend, serverless, and edge. Best Next.js host in this set.
Long-running process Yes. Containers stay up. Not the default. Functions and Fluid compute. Docker support is function-shaped, not a dyno.
Databases First-party managed Postgres, MySQL, Redis, MongoDB (separate package). Marketplace / Neon. Not a first-party always-on Postgres in the same sense.
PHP / Docker / workers Supported via buildpacks or a Dockerfile. Awkward or absent compared with a container host.
Preview deploys Environments exist; not Vercel-style preview URLs per PR. Best-in-class preview deployments.
Global edge No. One operator region. Yes. This is why people pick Vercel.
Billing GEL packages. Quota, not requests. Seat / platform fee plus usage. Easy to start, easy to surprise on functions.
Compliance ISO 27001 and ISO 27017 via Proservice. Vercel enterprise compliance on higher plans.

Pick Vercel when

  • The app is Next.js (or similar) and you want previews, edge, and their frontend toolchain.
  • You do not need a long-running worker or a first-party database next to the app.
  • Your users are global and latency to a single Georgian cluster would hurt.

Pick Deploy ON when

  • You have an API, worker, n8n, or PHP app that must stay running.
  • Postgres (or MySQL / Redis / Mongo) should live next to the app, not in another vendor’s meter.
  • You want a monthly GEL plan instead of function invoices.

What we are not claiming

Vercel is a real product with more regions, a larger ecosystem, and (in several cases) a lower sticker at the smallest size. Deploy ON wins when you want a GEL quota, a Georgian operator, ISO 27001 / 27017 via Proservice, and a process that stays up next to a database. It does not win at global edge, preview URLs, or a public template marketplace.
